Purpose: To restore effective performance in work teams experiencing difficulty.
Some teams just get stuck! Some teams never got off to a good start to begin with. In traditional team parlance, there are four stages of the evolution of a team: Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing. It is not uncommon, absent the framework and skills, for teams to become stuck in the "Storming" stage. This has to do with power, competition, and control. Communication breaks down, differences go unresolved, cliques form, energy is diverted to personality issues, people avoid each other, politeness rests atop a bubbling undercurrent, serious issues are not addressed for fear of conflict. Productivity becomes mediocre at best.
Identifying the elephant in the room, taking risks, encouraging trust, building skills and becoming accountable are key team steps to getting back on the track to high performance. It takes experience and skilled facilitation to address sensitive issues productively and is best handled by an outside party - one whose only interest is the team's success.
This customized workshop uses powerful team diagnostics and individual assessment instruments to identify and address performance obstacles, resolve differences, and align individual efforts toward common, more productive results. Participants leave with a renewed sense of purpose, stronger working relationships, a clear picture of what contributed to their being "stuck", a commitment to and plan for improved results, and relief.
